Nebook Reflection

I like to go on my net book because when we get to write and there a mistakes we get to undo it. Another thing was when we are writing we get to share with the world on our blogs.

This year I have really enjoyed having a Netbook to work on because we can do anything like write our writing on a google doc. And also we can check our site to see what we are going to do on our timetable.



As much as I have loved having a Netbook there are some things that I haven’t liked. When we are writing it is always tries to reach Google and it is annoying. When we are trying to connect with Google and it does not connect we have to re connet with Wairehe.



The big difference from pencil and paper last year to this year there a huge differences.One of them are like when we are writing on paper and pen we strugle to rub out with a rubber. Because makes a mess.

The hardest thing is when we are on our Netbooks it is so distracting that we always want to go on games or anything else.The greatest challenge for me was every week on Fridays our class room 13 gets to have free time that means we get to do any thing but not go on youtube or anything else that’s not appropriate. I think that I am not Cyber Smart cause going on our
Netbooks can be distracting.


If the Netbook Scheme failed and I would never give up and still write with pen and paper.I think that would be a very sad thing to do. It would be very different without a Netbook because it is so much easier to write with.

Saturn

The Problems

1. How would you feel if you were in a huge storm in Saturn? This was its five hundred time bigger than anything like it ob versed by the Casini Mission in the last two years. Saturn’s releasing lightning bolts are a rate of ten per and it’s happening ten times more than other storms monitored since 2004. Another problem was if you try to live on Saturn you would have no air and no water to drink.


The Solutions

2. Solution number -1.
I would be scared if their was a huge storm .Would you? This was the biggest storm that I have ever heard of like it obveresd by the Casini Mission.This was a very huge storm.


3. Solution number -2.
On Saturn there are different things like many problems as known no air or water.So you cant drink any water or you cant Breath. That is a sad thing that Saturn does not have these things. Water or air.

4.Solution number-3
Also Saturn can have HUGE STORMS like it was a big storm than any other storm. It’s huge storms are bigger than any storm of course not Jupiter’s storms. Another thing was if you try to land on Saturn you would melt into the ground because did you know that on Saturn the ground is not solid.


5.The best Solution would be that Another was if you try to live on Saturn you would have no air and no water to drink. On Saturn there are different things like many problems as known no air or water.So you cant drink any water or you cant Breath.

6. I wonder if any one in the future would go to Saturn?

Our Trip To the Stardome (One Tree Hill)

“Why are we walking up that hill?” I bravely asked. Hot and thirsty.Gracefully
we made it to the!! Incredible view all around. Sliding into the crater, the rocks scratched my legs “ Ouch” I said. Rolling into the crater I saw lots of rocks. “ Why did I lave my shoes behind
at school, my feet hurt” whispered to my self.

Outta This World!!

My name is Sela and I am a the astronaut. What I’m going to do is to save the world be all the space junk so the world would be safe. but first I need my gear.

While waiting for the countdown quickly I got into the rocket. “there goes the countdown” I said to my friend. The planet that we are going to visit was Mars, Venus also and Saturn.

3,2,1 BLAST OFF!!Struggling to sit in my chair I started to float in the air.While sitting on the chair the rocket cut through the sky and made a huge boom!! “Ahhhhhh”! I yelled.

“Yes” I said. Did you know that we are half way past Earth”?. That is a very big planet that I see. My imaginary planet is called Pizza Planet, what is yours?

Alien Snot

“I don’t want to make alien snot that is so disgusting” I whispered to my self. But then I just had to wait and see if it was disgusting.

The method of making the alien snot was: 1 cup of cornflour A little water Green food colouring. “Yuck!! I hate that smell get it away from me” As I said in my head.

While waiting for Miss King to pour the Green food coloring in we waited quietly. "Finally" I whispered to my self. "Is our Alien Snot finished" I asked Miss King.

Did you know that first the snot is hard then when you touch it is soft. At first I thought it was disgusting, but then it wasn't. That looks like real snot. I wonder what a real aliens snot looks like?

"Yeah our Alien Snot is finished Is yours? I cant wait to make it again that was a lot of fun making alien snot.

Ice Cream Comets

“Eww!! Yuck”!! I said. “Do we really have to roll the Ice Cream in our hands?” “That is so disgusting, my hands might freeze’’ I whispered to my self.

The ingredients were: Chocolate Ice Cream, Cones, Hundreds and Thousands and also crushed biscuits.

As Miss King scooped the Ice Cream into my hands it quickly dripped through my fingers like sand. “Brain freeze! Brain freeze!” I cried.

Hundreds and thousands everywhere along the ground that was a very huge mess.

“Mmmmm!! Yum.“My hands are cold “Can I use napkin” I said to Whaea Janeille. “NO your hands are already dried” Whaea Janeille shouted.

But I just realised that all the comets are different sized but at least we still made a comet. “ Mmm Yumm”! I shouted. “Miss King can I have some more ?” I yelled.

Shattering into pieces the comets looked like little balls of mud.” That was a delicious comet. My stomach was begging for more.

Lift Off!!

Shaking and shuddering, my legs had pins and needles . I was sweating everywhere, while sitting strapped on the chair. Soon the shuttle would be leaving earth.

While waiting for the countdown I filled with nervous excitement. “I am very scared” I whispered to myself. While waiting for the countdown my ears were shattering because of the noise from the rockets.

Here came the call for the countdown 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. “It feels like I am going to faint” I said. “Ignition” the call cried. There was another noise again “BOOOM!!” I was frightened of the noise!

I hope next time I wouldn’t feel scared when we get on the rocket again. That was a very frightened adventure but lucky I was safe.

Immersion Assembly

Walking towards the school grounds I said to my little brother “ There is an Immersion Assembly” Finally I got to school and all the teachers were in costumes.

While sitting in the hall with the school Mr Burt introduced us to the new topic we are studying and the topic was Outta This World. I just can’t wait to learn more about outta space.

My favourite three items were teams: 2,4 and 5 what were your favourite items? My favourite teacher that dressed up very well was team 5 teachers I love the way they moved their mouths.


Wow!! That was a great start for the term and I hope we learn more!!!!

Thinking Hats

YELLOW HAT: What Did I Enjoy? I enjoyed netball. Because we get to choose our position, My favorite position was center. Because I like to pass the ball to Goal De fence, Goal attack or Wing De fence.

Black Hat:Things I Didn't enjoy. I didn't enjoy AFL. Because every single time I do the hand pass it goes a different way I wanted it to go straight.

White Hat: What did I learn? I learned fractions. Because I know what is a 1/2 , 1/3 , 1/4 also and a 1/5, do you know what's a fraction?

RED HAT: How do you about my term overall? I feel amazing. Because I loved doing sports skills like Netball with Emma and Badminton with Donna.

BLUE HAT: what could I have done better to help my learning? I am going to learn more maths. Because I want to learn more fractions and adding up to the tens and hundreds.

Warriors vs Manly Sea Eagles

Me anga tatou ki te rekareka - Let’s have some fun! Rugby league brings people together. “First try to Manly Sea Eagles” My cousin yelled. League fans yelling “ GO WARRIORS”

While walking to the field mighty strong warriors sang the National Anthem at the Australia, Sydney stadium. So lucky that the game was on Saturday. “ Yeah” My cousin shouted “Manu Vatuvae scored the first try for the warriors.

Sadly the warriors lost to the team Manly Sea Eagle.The crowd in Australia cheered “GO MANLY SEA EAGLES” the crowd went wild. That was a very sad game for the Warriors but that was a very lucky try to Manly Sea Eagles.

That was a great game that the warriors played but still the warriors tried their best to get more scores, I hope they will try their hardest, I hope they win next time.

USA (United States Of America)

Did you know that in the United States there are lots of celebrities? Also did you know that the team USA is in the Rugby World Cup?In USA there are famous things there. Have you ever been to USA?

I love their team that is in the Rugby World Cup .Do you? Which team do you love the best out of these teams: USA, New Zealand, Ireland, Argentina or Canada? My favorite team is all the teams, what is your's?

Sonny Bill Williams

Accurately passing the ball, he flew to score a try. Running through the opposition line Sonny Bill Williams side stepped the team and scored another try for the All Blacks.

" What a amazing try" I said. What is your favorite player in the All Blacks team? What was your favorite part of the teams that the All Blacks have played?

I felt excited when I heard that All Blacks was going to play against France I felt excited and this was a very big game I was watching and yelled" YEAH Sonny Bill got a try"

Alfajorcitos (Argentina)

Que Rico que son los alfajorcitos - son maravavilloso,to learn more about Argentina, Room 13 made these special treats.

A alfajorcitos is a treat that kids in Argentina eat it is a dessert, the it is made from argentina, now this is my favourite treat. It was so yummy in my tummy delicioso as I was eating the alfajorcito my stomach grumbling. “That was yum” I said to Jordenne.

What I experienced was making a Argentinian treat and it is a favourite of mine now what is your favourite treat? Have you tasted a Argentinian dessert before?

“Yum”! I said. You should try it. If you don’t know how to make just read my story. It is the yummest desert that I have tasted!!

Aussie Rules!!

Aussie Rules is a strange game that is similar to rugby, basketball and netball. At Pt England School, we have been learning how to play this weird sport.
I thought that this game was going to be frustrating on the week that we started, then four weeks later I am getting better and better.

As I was running around, the weather was such a pain, it was so changeable. We had all four seasons in one day - rain, wind and sunshine! I was scared that there might even be a storm. Luckily though, it didn’t rain!

For a warm up we played a game that was called Bumper Jumper. This is a game that requires a partner. Both people hop and try to knock each other off their feet. I lost against Lesieli.

For our next activity, we learnt a skill that taught us how to bounce the ball while running. Fumbling out of control - I was unable to catch the ball. It was so very tricky.

RWC Where Were You?

As we were watching Tonga play against NZ my family had lots of anger, hope you enjoy watching my movie about tonga, so sit back and relax.

Cross Country

Guess What our school did yesterday?
We did Cross Country.

the parents came to school they were cheering us off, also as the teachers were too,when we were walking to the start line I felt scared that I needed to go to the toilet .

I was so excited that I said to Aldora " I am so nervous and scared that my legs were shaking when we walked to the start line. As Mr Burt said“ on your marks
get set Go I tried my hardest to get to the end, when we were walking to the start line I felt scared but I still tried to get to the end, when I was running lots of teachers and students were supporting us. I could see people rushing to the finish line. I thought this was never going to end.

I was half way there I saw lots of my sister and brothers friends, as I was jogging to the finish line my legs and arms were flailing,I really did not want to do cross country but still tried my hardest to get to the end as I was running to the I saw lots of students running past me I was so exhausted that my legs were shaking.

Finally cross country was over I ran to the end and everyone was cheering me off “that was so hard “I said to Mary! “FINALLY!!!!!” I yelled.

All Blacks Haka

Why did the All Blacks do their haka?It was to support New Zealand and their Team, when the all blacks were doing their haka, it looked intimidating and was a very tough challenge. As the All Blacks did their haka it looked like the opposition team was afraid.

The haka was a intimidating performance for New Zealand. Through t slitting and lots of passionate confidence. As Piri Wipu did through t slitting the opposition team was afraid.

Jonah Lomu

Jonah Lomu was a Tongan, and was the first global star. He debuted for the All Blacks in 1994. When Jonah was in the All Blacks team, he played 63 games for them. Jonah Lomu was a intimidating player.
In 2003 Jonah Lomu had dialysis. Jonah Lomu had a kidney problem. He had to had a kidney transplant his kidney in 2004 otherwise he would be in a wheel chair for the rest of his life

Playing as a all black Jonah Lomu was the first Global superstar in New Zealand. He played 63 games in 1994. He made a huge impact on the game. Jonah Lomu was a professional New Zealand union player. Jonah was a intimidating player.

Badminton

Accurately hitting the shuttle in the air, it looked like it was a bird. Concentrating on the shuttle, quickly Mary served. As the shuttle was spinning in the air I heard a pinging noise.

Running back and forth, I saw powerful hits as I served. While Mary served, she said to me “ You can do it Sela but keep trying”. Carefully aiming at Mary’s Racket a shuttle had hit me in the head.I said to Mary “ That was a great serve”.


Then Donna taught us a game called Badminton Soccer. As I was watching the girls play, I saw lots of frustrating serving going on. When my friend gave me the racket, I was the one that had to serve. I thought in my head “Sela you can do it”.


I saw spectacular hits, and saw Donna giving us a example. I learnt a forehand, backhand and a trick shot. As I hit the shuttle with my racket, I heard a pinging noise. Have you ever played Badminton?

Healthy Food

What should we eat healthy? Children should eat a variety of different foods to be healthy,we really don’t need to eat treats. Eating healthy makes our bodies grow and makes our brain work and learn a lot.

Fats and sugar are needed eaten everyday, but only in limited amounts. The best drinks for kids are milk and water , juice and fizzy should be left for treats.

Eating healthy makes you live right !! Also eating healthy gives you energy and makes your body work well and to make your brain work and learn. Having a healthy diet makes you live right.

WELCOME TO OUR SPECIAL COUNTRY NEW ZEALAND!!!!!!

In New Zealand we have different multicultural people,and we have unique things. In New Zealand we have fun sports to do, and people enjoy it. NZ is a very small country now, because millions and millions of years ago New Zealand was connected to to Australia, then NZ broke of Australia and made their own country. New Zealand is an isolated but special country.


Buzzy Bee
Buzzy Bee is New Zealand’s famous toy. And all most every child has a buzzy bee. It was made in a small workshop in the 1930’s in Auckland. Nearly every every New Zealander’s love buzzy bee.


Jandals

In New Zealand many people wear Jandals in Summer , because its hot. In Australia people call Jandals flip flops. Flip Flops is another way of calling them Jandals. The reason why people wear Jandals is because sneakers are really hot to wear.

Ma'a Nonu

Weaving in and out, the mean machine Ma’a Nonu went through the opposition line.
Down the field he ran away fast to dive through the try line. Slipping out of the tackle he barged through the opposition team and side stepped through them. He used his great skills to smash in and try to get the ball.
The charging bull Ma’a Nonu quickly passed the ball to his team mate. There were lots of players that had been tackled down, but there was one man who was still standing and he had the ball, his name -Ma’a Nonu. He ran through them to get a try. Horray! The All Blacks cheered.

How Rugby Started!!!

The game of football was played at rugby school and it caused major injury's,
handling the ball was permitted, the game of football was not allowed to run with.

There were no fixed limit of players.
Any number of players on the field can play football. William ran with the ball and he started the game of rugby in 1823, In 1845 by then the rules were written for the game of rugby.

The Beep Test

Wow!! What a wonderful start for the term!!! The beep test made us puff and it made my legs hurt, I sighed to Lesieli and said " huuuuuuu I'm tired" We ran 15 levels and the level I got up to was. I am going to achieve a higher level by practice running every time after school, the level that I want to achieve next time is 8.1 .

Next time our class does the beep test I am going to try and get fitter.

Trip To MOTAT

Have you ever been to Motat? Well my class Room 13 and 14 when to motat that usually stands for museum of transport and technology. First our class went into a room filled with lots of old and new inventions, first I knew how to hold an old camera that you have to hold it near your bally button, finally i got to go to look at more inventions out side.

My favourite part was when Kashya and her mum had takken us to the mirror maze and when our whole class went into the Techtile dome.

Design Uniforms ( Technology Project)

Winter!!!!!!
The problem is that when it rains like in the morning if its rains and you are walking we just have our own water proof uniform. Just a reminder the pants is just normal like now.
I choose this design so it can make people come to school.
This design makes it better because it is better than before.
My new uniform is going to be made out of polyester because it is going to be a beauty than before.

Summer!!!!!!
The problem is that one day if it is freezing you get to have your own Jumper. Just another quick reminder our pants are short and you get to fold it And if you get to hot you can take off you jumper and wear your T-Shirt. The one thing that I have to fix is to make it more interesting.

I choose this design so it can make people come to school.

This design makes it better because it is going to be gorgeous than now.

My new uniform is going to be made out of Cotton because I know that it would be better than before.

BACK TO THE FUTURE

As Doc reversed out of the driveway the delorean made a screeching noise from the wheels. Marty quickly said to Doc “Hey Doc, we better back up, we don’t have enough road to get to 88.” He felt worried that something dangerous might happen. Jennifer didn’t even know what was going on she was frozen, she also was nervous and she looked very was sick. “Roads. Where we’re going we don’t need roads. Quickly Doc reached out his glasses from the back of his head and was pressing buttons at the same time. The car sped off into the air in the bright sunshine and with a burst off fire.

The BFG ( Big Friendly Giant)

Deep in the dark gloomy cave the BFG said to Sophie “ I need Frobscottle this instance” he said badly, Opening the cupboard to get the bottle for some whizzpopperz, he drank the whizzpopper then he flied into the air. “ Hey Sophie do want some whizzpopperz?”Said the BFG as he was walking to get frobscottle the bubbles down in stead of up. He really wanted Frobscottle badly.

Making Movie Awards 2

What were you doing on Sunday 5 pm.? Guess what we were doing on Sunday evening? Some of our school went to the I AM MAKING MOVIES 2 AT THE AUCKLAND MUSEUM!. We all met at school first. I was so excited when I first stepped into the bus and sat with my friends.

The Presenters at the awards were Charlie from What Now and Robyn Malcolm. Our school’s Kapa Haka group were the first performance for the evening. The Pride Of Auckland was a choir that performed also and were the most amazing singers that I have ever heard.

This was my first time entering the I am Making Movies 2011. I enjoyed sitting on the comfortable chairs, me and my best friend Laita were sitting in the front row where there was a beautiful view.

Our movie was entered in the category BEST PRODUCTION we were so excited when our classes movie was shown on the big screen in front of all the other schools, then Charlie from WHAT NOW said “ Time to announce the winner” He called out DON'T FORGET YOUR ROOTS BY ROOM 13 KINGS AT PT ENGLAND” Me and my friend yelled “ Yeahhhhhhhh we won” Our class won a Sony Camera and Music Vouchers.
Robyn Malcolm announced the Supreme Award and called out “Pt England School Our History, Our Heritage” Then I yelled “ “Yeahhhhh our school has won another camera”

Our Friends From Wake Forest

On Monday PT England School had friends from Wake Forest University. There were 9 students 1 student was in our class she was a pretty and friendly person, She was our friend and her name was Meagan she was a princess to our class room 13. We will miss them.

The Imaginary Resort At PT England

Finally we had reached the PT England Resort. We were going to be spending a whole week on a special outing with Thea and her Mum. I stared at the hotel standing in front of us then at the beach with it’s sparkling clear water. I saw an angel -fish go by “Mum look!”

We walked through the hotel door. A lady greeted us. “ Hello” she said “and welcome to the Pt England resort you can do anything you want here.” “Which activity should we do first ? The jet boat, The playground or the aquarium? Luckily we were here for a week.

Adding Detail to Sentence

A Genius invented the spaceship with his Assistants.

This person worked hard for a whole week to invent this spaceship with heaps of tools.

He collected lots of materials to invent his spaceship which was called room 13 kings.

This story shows you that I am learning how to add detail to sentences.

Egg Drop

20 minutes yelled Miss King ! 20 minutes you got to be joking, How was this going to work when we just had 20 minutes Cut cut chatter chatter tape tape, Whenever Ana came to get some tape we did not get time to finish our thinking and how to make it.

We worked hard to make our own egg drop by using paper, scissors sellotape and egg me and my partner Josephine were working hard , there were so much noise in our class. We did not manage to finish our egg drop but the rest of the class did but not Mary and Chyna’s group did not finish their egg drop to, because we did not get time to think what and how we were going to make it.

Then we watched everybody Else's in our class and one or two eggs survived everybody was cheering to others splat the egg goes we knew that the egg had brake because all of the slime was coming out of the paper “ Yuck” I said to Josephine I wish that we did not chat chat and just do what we were told to do but we did not finish. I said “ Go Kashya and Lesieli you can do it girls” So they hopped on to the brick wall and it was there turn to drop there egg, It was a fail.

Best Movie is Rio

Today I watched Rio with my little brother on the computer on the CD it is a funny to me. It got sad because the little bird blue got found by a little girl then the little girl had toke care of him and he had a great time with the little girl, and when the little girl was growing and growing the blue bird was growing and growing to.

Best singer is Jessie

Jessie J is a good singer to me because she is always confident when she is singing and when she is writing her lyrics she never has mistakes in her lyrics and because she has a great voice too. And because that she is a good person to take a photo of . She is a great Singer. So listen to her sing.

It Is My Imaginary World!!

In my own world the sun is a peach and the rain is sweet, fizzy drink that falls from the sky. Life would be relaxing,when everyone is kinder -in my own world. Everything is better.

My Brothers Rugby game !! ( In the weekends)

I yelled " go Tamaki College and my mum said to my elder brother go go team I know you can do this so keep up the great team work T C that is short for Tamaki College. As I walked to the van my mum yelled to me " we got a try " but the other school was still winning. My brother had his first rugby game and he played for Tamaki College they had lost by 22 to 13 I was so excited to see my brother play rugby and it was my first time to see him get his first try. He tried hard to go to his next game at Elersilie Eagles that is a club a great club to play for. My big brother didn't
get time to go to hid next rugby game because it alredy started.

Swimming at YMCA!!

I dove under the sparkly water and jumped off the bottom with my arms outstretched. My eyes were stinging red. I sat on the edge to blink away the burn.

Sentence Beginning

Our class Room 13 were learning about feature and great paragraphs. One of the important reasons why you make sure that your sentence have variety of a sentence beginning. Our classroom read Toreka's story
that is called What an Ambush'' and then we highlighted all the beginnings of her sentences. When we have highlighted it we turned it into a color and then we copy it to
wordle.net to give our class some great ideas to learn how to start our sentence starters. The also idea is that making sure that the important reasons why you need a variety sentence start is because it has to sound intresting or Great and Amazing but it doesn't have to be Amazing, Great or Intresitng so that it is the idea.
