My Basketball Recount

Enjoying a great season of playing sport nearly every week, our classroom joined together to play the sport Basketball. Basketball felt so amazing to play. Dribbling and passing the ball over to my friend she quickly passed it to me. As I scored a goal my whole team yelled YEAH!!

These skills really helped us to learn how to play Basketball. Starting off our lessons with skills we played a game called tunnel ball. You first need either 5 or 6 people in your group well we had 5 and I was in the front. The first thing you need to do is put the ball over your head and then the person behind puts under her/him. First person to the front and moves up starts over again. Its a great game to play, Netball or Basketball trainings.

Basketball is my favorite sport that I have ever played, the most coolest thing that I love about Basketball is Shooting into the goal and Dribbling the ball. You should play this sport because you can run, shoot into the goal and also dribble the ball. Do you like Basketball? Well I do. Do you know why i like Basket ball the reason is because you get to shoot anywhere near the circle.

Next year I am looking forward to playing Basketball with our classroom. Are you into playing BASKETBALL? Thank you Ty and Brook from Auckland Basketball for having lessons at our schools with us.

Farewell Mrs Verry

Farewell to our dear Mrs Verry from Team 4 Pes on Vimeo.

Sitting in the hall waiting to start our Assembly we sang our National Anthem. During then our principal Mr Burt welcomed our kindest teacher Mrs Verry to our Assembly. Unfortunately she was leaving, thats why most of our teachers were dressed in so many jewelry.

As Mr Burt told us his story about Mrs Verry a movie showed up. This movie was a movie from a long long time ago when Mrs Verry was a teacher but now she is in child support. By now she is not going to be helping us she would be helping her family.

For almost being here at our school for over 20 years. One of our child support teachers were going to leave us. Mrs Verry was a great teacher without her help our school would be broken, but lucky we have more teachers in our community. Well celebrating a great few years with her we started our friday with sharing our love with her.

Feeling so sad that she was leaving culture groups from our school danced for her, the Samoan girls and our little junior Maori pounamu group. She has been an Super Gran to our school, and she is also known as the Queen of Bling. Mrs Verry was a kind and caring teacher, sometimes she growls my friends and sometimes me. But she is still one of my favorite teachers.

We are going to miss her lots from oldest to youngest we will still remember her.

My 50 Word Story About Richard Whitehead

Great Britain’s winner Richard Whitehead ran in the 100m sprint, he also celebrated by holding his flag. Filled with pride this man competed in the paralympics.  He made his country very proud! Running on his blades he came 1st.  Gracefully, as the crowd cheered him on, he waved his flag.

Making Thai Fish Cakes In Extension

During the week we joined an competition it was not a mavoie making one it was a cooking one. Well our Extension group made Thai Fish Cakes. The Comp was called lets Cook. Making Thai Fish Cakes was as nice as anything else. Please click on the link and vote for us at Parmco.

My reflection: This task of making Thai Fish Cakes was so fun the most coolest thing that happened was to get together and putting it in the frie pan.

The most difficult thing that happened while cooking was trying to flip it over. The thing that made it difficult was when I tried to flip it over the oil would just pop up and burn my face.

My favourite part of our process was eating the Thai fish Cakes!!! Do you know why? Well I liked it because you could taste the curry and the fish. IT WAS SO TASTY!!

Do you think that I am going to make this for my family. You should try it because it tastes so GREAT!

Netball Prizegiving 2012

netball prizegiving 2012 from Team 4 Pes on Vimeo.

Finally finishing our Netball season with a prize giving, our year 5 team 1 team came first through out all of the whole section 1 year 5’s. Starting off  my morning with getting ready, I quickly got my shoes on and asked my mum to wake up saying " Wake up mum wake up I need to go to school for netball today" I said in a hurry. Quickly getting into the van I looked at the time and it was 8:15 that is the time we had to get there at school. Our prize giving was held at the AMI Netball Courts.

Seeing my friends Jordenne and Asena I noticed that I wasn't late. There came our sports teacher Miss Va'afusuaga. Walking out of the van I quickly said goodbye to my mum. " Hey Jordenne since when have you been here” As I asked Jordenne. She said since 8:00 clock.

Walking into school grounds we got ready to wear our Netball Uniforms. By then our Manager Miss Squires appeared at school, “ YAY” I said to myself. Getting changed into our uniforms more people from our team turned up to school.

We were ready to go. Getting into one of our teacher’s car we drove off to the Netball courts. There it was the prize giving all ready and done.  Walking onto the courts we sat down and listened to the host talking. Waiting to hear them call out the year 5 section 1 we got ready to get our prize. Our prize was a medal, it was so hard and cool.

I would be looking forward to the next prize giving next year!!!

Edditing and Re-crafting

Today we practised re crafting a piece of writing. The first paragraph belongs to Aldora and the second paragraph is mine.
Aldora’s Version
As we were getting near some more puddles, I realised that the track was dangerous. Jogging carefully down the slippery stairs I nearly slipped but luckily I held onto the tree. I was happily saved by the tree.

                                          My Version
As I ran up towards the stairs, I reached some more muddy puddles. Looking down at my shoes they were all dirty and greasy. “ Wow this is a very scary and yucky race” I said to myself as I ran through the squishy grass.
