Immersion Assembly

Finally the first day of Term 4 had come!! I was really looking forward to what our topic was going to be.  It was Monday morning as I rushed into our classroom door. Filled with excitement I dashed quickly to  our classroom’s wall which had a poster of what we were going to be learning about. SURVIVOR, was our Topic for this term!

The 8:45 bell had rung, I quickly ran towards the hall as all the prefects were waiting for me. Assembly had finally started!! The items from Team 1 - 4 were amazing!! Knowing that team 1 was going to be learning about the zoo and even going on a trip to the zoo sounded surprisingly fun!

Then there was team 4’s movie. I think it was one of the best movies that were shown. Why? Well in the movie they showed four students getting interviewed in the green screen room. While they were getting interviewed there was a movie playing in the background, it was showing different animals. So in the end Team 4 is learning about how animals live.

It was now Team 5’s item. While our teachers were getting closer to the stage. The prefects and I rushed towards the back to find out what our team was learning about. When we got there our teachers had already started performing. Waiting waiting and waiting, finally they started their performance.

Their performance was amazing. Soo team 5 is learning about how people and animals eat and survive in the places they live in. Sad thing was it was our year 8’s last Immersion Assembly.

Immersion Assembly

Immersion assembly on Monday was a great start to the term.

This term we will be learning about the Commonwealth games. Since our topic will be GAME ON!!

Every year and term, immersion assembly is the very first assembly that is held for the term. Items are performed by the teachers, And there were also movies that were created.

Like items by Team 1, 2 and 3 had been about sports. For team 2’s Item they had created a movie  about the sports in the Commonwealth games. Like netball and and Rugby. It was performed by Mrs Mackinley-Haigh, Ms Eadie, Mrs She and Ms Dwyer.

Sitting in the hall watching their movie was quite funny and entertaining.They even used a Ruler for Javelin. And a cardboard box for Shot put that was cut in a circle.

I also enjoyed watching Team 4 and 5’s items. Team 4’s item was about inventing a new event in the Commonwealth games. They called it ‘Mashed Potato Sculpting’.  

YAY we are learning about Sports. I can’t wait to be learning about the Commonwealth games.

Immersion Assembly

It was eventually the first day of Term 2, and already we had an example of what the Main Topic was for the term. We started with an Immersion Assembly. Of all the teachers performing/Entertaining us of what our Team was going to do.

I really enjoyed watching Team 3’s Item.  Which was about Colours,Light and the Speed of Light. Performed By ~ Miss King, Miss Thompson, Miss Trimble, Mrs Barks and Miss Walters. They taught us a very good lesson on what Colours can do. But the question that was asked was “ What is the colour of a Banana in the Dark??

But I was still wondering what our Team was learning about (Team 5 by the way)  As soon as Mr Burt called out Team 5. We were so excited to know what we were going to learn about this Term.  So then our teachers finally announced that our Topic for this term is “Sound”

At the end it was finally Learning Time.

This Morning. Oh Well every morning of a new Term. The teachers had performed some examples of what we would be learning about this term. Team 4 is going to be learning about Farming.  And I am REALLY excited to be learning about this. Why? Well did you know my Uncle is a farmer and that's why I am REALLY excited.

Did you know that one of my dreams were to help a Farmer. I really enjoyed watching Team 4's video. Why?? You may ask well it was a snippet of what it would look in a Farm. Well did you know that the food you eat come from a Farm. Like Wheat-Bix for an example it is made from Wheat in the farm.

Immersion Assembly

From Immersion Assembly Term 4 2011

Walking towards the school grounds I said to my little brother “ There is an Immersion Assembly” Finally I got to school and all the teachers were in costumes.

While sitting in the hall with the school Mr Burt introduced us to the new topic we are studying and the topic was Outta This World. I just can’t wait to learn more about outta space.

My favourite three items were teams: 2,4 and 5 what were your favourite items? My favourite teacher that dressed up very well was team 5 teachers I love the way they moved their mouths.


Wow!! That was a great start for the term and I hope we learn more!!!!
