2015 Reflection

This year was the BEST year I’ve had so far. First was Year 8 leadership camp, then came our Polyfest trip. Which was held at the Manukau Sports bowl. I think these 2 events were one of the best events that were held!!

Why it was my favourite? Well the year 8 leadership camp was the best event because, we got to learn about how we can get back to school and show what we have learnt.Throughout that camp I have learnt to become a good role model to others around our school and area.

The best thing that I am looking forward to this term is our trip to parakai. Why? Well we get to bond with our friends and even our classmates too. This year has been a great experience by bonding with more people that I usually hang out with.

My goals for next year are too try and improve my learning without any distractions. This year I think that I would have improved better at Maths and listening to instructions. I think that I could do better next year Maths by listening to instructions carefully and also staying focused.

If I was to give this year a rating. I would give myself a 10 out of 10. Why? Well this year has been a great experience helping out the year 7’s become better leaders. The leadership camp helped us improve our skills and it also helped us bond with the other Year 8’s too.

This year was so cool. Because we got be in new teachers classrooms. Like Miss Peato, Mr Wiseman, Miss Clark, Miss Hockly and Mrs Moala. The most exciting thing was also when Mrs Tele’a had came to teach us too. It was really cool experiencing different teachers in our area.

For 2016 I think that I’d need to change my attitude and also speaking more quietly. Why? Well this year I’ve got told so many times to be quiet. Also my attitude this year was Good. But I’d like my attitude to be GREAT!!

I am really looking forward to next year! First year of COLLEGE Yayyy!

Here is a presentation that me and my friend Mao have created in Literacy Class. It is about how we use Rhyming schemes in Poems. At the end of this presentation there is a poem that we had created! Hope you enjoy/like it.

Future Aspiration

Last week on Thursday our yr 7 and 8 team had the privilege to hear from 2 amazing speakers. Which were from Marcus Winter ( The Sand man) and also by  Louis  Gordon- Latty.

We first heard from Andrew Patterson who introduced us to Marcus and Louis. Andrew had quotes that inspired us, and the first he had said was “ Do more of what makes you AWESOME!!” Hearing and listening to what Andrew had to say really inspired me.  After he had spoken we got to hear from Marcus Winter.

It was great to hear how Marcus went from the streets to working in ships and over in Australia. What does he do for a living? Well Marcus Winter is a sand artist. Which he creates art with sand. Marcus started from Otara Markets to working on the streets in the city where he met Andrew Patterson, then went into Ships over in Australia.

He even talked about back in primary, when  he was always the last to finish off handwriting.  but now look where he is.  In the big shows and stadiums performing his very own art.

It was great to hear that when we grow older more things change. I can’t wait to be a Social Worker when Im older!!

6 Thinking Hats

Here is a presentation that we have created in literacy. It is about the 6 Thinking hats, and the article that I was reading was Breakers Book Spot In Grand Final. It was about the Breakers!

Badge Of Honour

This term our Literacy class is learning to use Themes. You’re probably wondering what I am talking about. Well a theme is another way of saying “the moral of the story” Here is a poster that I have also created about the story that we have read.

Talking Points

Here is a presentation that I have created during our Literacy class. At this moment our literacy class was learning how to use Talking points. I have finally completed this! We were learning to justify our opinions on a statement or article.
