Dusty Room


   Here is a poem that my group and I have created. Here are links to there blogs Ebony , MaoJalen and Leila. This is a poem that has taught us a lot of things. Read carefully.                                            

Tearing walls ripping down

The smell of mold goes round and round

The taste of black Licorice  makes everything vicious

Windy sounds come rushing through in different areas of the room
From wall to wall the smell gets stronger
Inside and outside no smell of delight
Trapped all alone and nowhere to go     
But no need to stress it's just a big mess

Walking through the door

we notice the ripped walls

molded roofs
with rats crawling through
 
and cockroaches

crawling round and round         



As I arrived in the room I looked down.

And I see Paint falling off the roof and I start to drown

I could smell a Musty smell on the wall.
Than I start feeling small.
When I looked around I can hear the Mouse's footsteps running on the roof.
But I wish it would be soundproof
As I drew the Curtains then I feel goosebumps coming up my arm
As I walk around the room I have this kind of dry taste in my mouth like I want to spew it out.



The room starts to rumble
 The ceiling began to crumble
Smelling mold
I start to get a cold
Everything’s broken
And it can’t be spoken
Disgusting floors
Covered in paint
Broken draws
I wanted to faint

Poetry

For the past few weeks Team 5 have been learning about Poetry and Rhyming. We are also learning to use Rhyming schemes. You are probably wondering what a rhyming scheme is. Well a rhyming scheme is using The letters from A through to H t rhyme a new word through your poem. For an example The scheme might be AABB.
Twinkle twinkle little star
How I wonder what you are
Up above the world so high
Like a diamond in the sky

Thinkboard Master Wk6


 

This is my thinkboard that I have created during Maths Class. Week 6 we're back. Think board is done and ready to post on my blog. In this equation we had to try and solve what 196 + ____ equaled to 853. I got the answer 657, so 196  657 = 853!! I also used the Round to solve this question. In this thinkboard it shows my thinking, a word story problem and even 5 questions that are similar to this question.

This week was another Thinkboard set for us. Our equation was 215.5 x 20 which equaled 4310.0. I used algorithm to solve this question! It also shows how I solved the question.

Flying Pigs Programme

I had came across to one of those boring first week of the holidays. Then I just remembered, what I was going to do the next week!!
Finally the day had arrived. Wednesday morning, Mary had came knocking on my door. I rushed down the stairs got my bag and went out and waited for Miss Wild to pick us up. We then drove off to the ANZ Viaduct Centre.

The programme that we had attended was called “Flying Pigs” Weird name right? Well this programme is for teenages who basically don’t have anything to do in the holidays. But also this programme helps with long living choices.

Mary and I got out of the car and waved bye to our teacher. As we walked into the room. I had noticed that we were the first ones there. I was really scared at first knowing we were going to do activities with strangers, which now I call my friends for the next three days.

One of the best days that I had enjoyed at this programme was getting to go into TVNZ!!! Why? Because we got to learn about more things that Directors do behind the scenes of our NZ shows. It was really cool experiencing different jobs that people do.

One of the best things that our leaders told me that I did well was learning to use the vision mixer. A vision mixer is a person that controls the different camera shots. So that person presses a lot of buttons just to change the camera shot. Which was really cool!!

I got to meet a whole bunch of new friends through this programme.  There were a bit of quiet ones, and loud crazy funny ones. But at the end of the week we all had fun!! Hopefully the next group of teenagers can experience what we have!!
